madison/miles media Wins Communicator Award of Distinction

We are pleased to announce that madison/miles media has received the 2018 Communicator Award of Distinction for our work on the Smith System website! The Award of Distinction is presented for projects that exceed industry standards in quality and achievement.

Our client, Smith System, is a global leader in crash-avoidance driver safety training. We focused closely on Smith System’s business requirements and provided recommendations to them based on keyword research, SEO strategy and best practices in regard to design and user interface. Additionally, we recommended a number of forms and tools for the site to not only make it a more interactive experience for the user, but also to gain insights on how users behave on the site. These insights allow us to continue enhancing the site based on how users are actually using it.

Design-wise, we played off The Smith5Keys® — the core of all Smith System advanced driver training courses — by superimposing five white diagonal lines over hero images. These lines are a nod not only to the Smith5Keys, but also convey lines on a highway or street. We also used a mix of custom and stock photography throughout the site to help illustrate the client’s services.

The Communicator Awards honor excellence in marketing and communications. It is the leading international awards program recognizing big ideas in marketing and communications. The awards are judged by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA), which consists of top-tier professionals from acclaimed media, communications, advertising, creative and marketing firms.
